Bear + Deer = Beer

I did it!! My first batch of beer is fermenting as you read this. It's an Oatmeal Stout, although I'll have a better name for it after the official taste test. Instead of going wussy style I decided to step it up a few notches by steeping actual grain and adding real hops to my wort. It was a joy, except for I wasn't properly equipped for stepping it up that many notches. All together it took me about 6 hours, which includes the time I took staring at the directions and wondering what I was going to mess up. Note to self - Don't brew beer on a 90+ degree day in a kitchen with no AC. Nonetheless I knocked it out with minimal damage to my kitchen and it currently appears to be on schedule and doing what beer does. Hopefully it tastes good when I'm done because I'm going to need some help drinking it. Cheers.

Where's the video? Mr. Critic lead me here but I can't seem to find it. Anywho, how long will the beer take to ferment? Sounds like you're doing a stellar job.

I thought the video was lame, so I took it down. I'll put it back up though so we can all bask in my lameness.

I believe I will rise to the challenge of helping you drink your beer... provided we test it out on Tankus first... and he doesn't die... or get (very) sick.

I enjoyed the video and think you should keep it up. You're such a likable guy that just seeing your smile makes me happy and I wish you luck in your brewing operation. Looks like fun!
