Poor Lakers

It wasn't pretty, but when the Lakers get beat it's a good day. That is unless Roy is seriously injured.

"These Refs Suck!"

I'm a Blazer fan, always have been, always will be. I watch, listen, read about every Blazer game, every season. Last night Kristy and I were given tickets to the Blazers v. Mavericks game at the Rose Garden and we were pumped. What took place there however was atrocious, ludicrous, recoculous, outrageous, egregious and downright sad. It started in the first quarter when Juwan Howard turned to run up court after Dallas scored and got a shoulder to the face from Najera. Howard gets called for a T and an offensive foul, no foul for Najera. The crowd wasn't pleased with the call and after several minutes of boos the officials reviewed the play and decided it was the correct call. Let the atrociousness begin. Rudy then gets a face rack on his way to the hoop, no call and Dallas ball.

Early in the second quarter Rudy Fernandez gets hit with a phantom T for saying something in Spanish because there certainly wasn't any contact and Rudy doesn't know how to talk junk, ludicrous. The Blazers battle back even though nobody can make a basket and get to within 3 by half.

The third quarter, Dirk jumps with the ball, lands with the ball and then jumps again to take a shot, which he makes. In my rule book that's traveling and apparently everybody but the three guys with whistles saw it, recoculous.

The fourth quarter, Andre Miller goes to the hoop gets a few elbows to his face, no foul, Dallas ball. Several minutes later Miller gets T'd up for making a shot and mouthing off, awesome. Next up Roy gets hacked several times, looses the ball out of bounds without a call, Dallas ball. I'm irate. McMillan is irate. Can I get a T? Yes you can. Several minutes later Batum gets steam-rolled by Jason Terry and somehow Batum gets called for an offensive foul. The entire crowd is now irate. Children are crying, baby seals are being clubbed and the world is going to end in 2012. You know how usually at games when they take TV timeouts they bring out the dancers or play funny games? The next TV timeout the crowd was verbally abusing every official on the floor, I've never seen anything like it. They didn't dare send out the dancers or play any cute games or play any fun music to dance to. It was a verbal assault unlike any other. The "These Refs Suck" chant started with about 3 minutes left in the game, and it was well deserved. The NBA should fine and suspend these guys. Is there no accountability? Probably not. I don't like to hate on refs, because that's a tough job, but at least one of these guys clearly had money on this game.

Go Blazers and bring on the Mavs in the first round, jerks.

Citizens Arrest

On my way home from work today I pulled up next to a Portland police officer at a red light when I noticed something strange. He was on his freaking cell phone! Maybe he didn't get the memo about the new law that went into effect on Jan.1st. I almost got a picture, but he bugged out and put his phone down. Lame. I did however issue him an official citation for $90 worth of bad karma.

Jason Ramey is a ridiculous man, with a ridiculous plan; to write a novel in a month. This month. To help motivate himself he's peer-pressured several of his friends and even his own wife to join in. I'm totally in. The only problem is I suck at writing. It would take most of my adult life to slam out a novel, and in the end it would most likely be terrible. While Jason is making his typing fingers bleed, I'll be contributing to this group in my own special way; ridiculous short films with original soundtracks. If anyone would like to be in one of these films or has a topic/idea that should be covered let me know. Jason if you're reading this, get back to work.
