The NBA - Where "Los" Happens

I'm sure you've heard on the news at some point today about the controversial move by the Phoenix Suns basketball team to wear the "Los Suns" jersey tonight. You've also probably heard about Arizona's new controversial immigration law which apparently the team feels it's denouncing by wearing the "Los Suns" jersey. Now let's pump those brakes. I don't know very much Spanish (2 years in high school), but I know that "The Suns" in Spanish isn't Los Suns! It's Los Soles, you morons. Spelling the word "The" in Spanish doesn't magically turn all the other words into Spanish as well. Believe me, I tried it in Mexico last year and it didn't work. Los Hispanic people should be pissed. If I was at the game tonight, which I won't be because I'm driving to Salem for an awesome party, I'd hold up a sign that said "To the white guy that thought Hispanics would think the NBA is awesome because you spelled the word "the" in Spanish; The burro sabe más que tu'.

Life Changes

I've done some reevaluating lately as far as my career is concerned and I've decided to take action. I've always felt that I was destined to do something that would make a positive difference while I'm on this planet and now I'm trying to make that happen. Often I'm overwhelmed by this feeling and now it's time to listen. Opportunity + Action = Luck. As far as my current job of repairing power tools goes, it's a great job. I get to work with nice people, listen to music all day and beat my hands up. My mind, body and spirit have been caged up for too long. I need to set myself free.

After careful consideration I came up with several jobs I feel would better allow me to serve my community and in turn myself. All of these jobs require additional education, which I can't get enough of, but will most likely put a strain on finances for awhile. I've been searching and applying like a mad man for Entry Level Police Officer and Firefighter positions recently. These positions are highly competitive (especially in our current economy) and scarce. Just the kind of odds I like. I'm off to take my second ORPAT test in about an hour, which by the way is much tougher than it looks.

Thank you all for your friendship and support, I wouldn't be the crazy guy I am today without it. I'll keep you posted.

Blazermegalomania

Now that the season is officially over for the Blazers I can get back to blogging with all my extra time. I'd just like to say that I'm proud to be a fan of the Blazers and I think they played a hell of a season this year considering the amount of injuries they endured. I'm already looking forward to next year, which I'd like to declare will be a championship run, if the whole team stays healthy. That's a big if. I just hope that Greg "I break my kneecap from jumping and take pictures of my schlong" Oden will be able to contribute. Go Blazers.
